Description
Gaze into a giant glowing two-part heart created using cutting-edge technology and traditional craft methods.
The installation combines a complex woven aluminium structure with luminous petals to form gradients of shimmering colour. It has been designed to set up a visual interplay with Royal Festival Hall.
Ventricle was created by SOFTlab, a design studio based in New York and founded by architect Michael Szivos. SOFTlab seeks to nurture creativity and experimentation through collaborations between the disciplines of architecture, design and art. They make large-scale sculptures like Ventricle alongside other work such as immersive digital video installations.
